Squad for the first Test: MS Dhoni (c/wk), Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, R Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Virat Kohli, Varun Aaron, Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Sharma.
MS Dhoni will lead Team India, while Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh set to return after retaining fitness levels missing England ODI's in home and away as well due to injuries. While off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina dropped, but Praveen Kumar rested for the series.
Team India's most experienced players Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxaman and opener Gautum Gambhir also included in the squad. While Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane was there in 15 member squad. Ishant will be spearhead, he along with Varun Aaroan or Umesh Yadav will share the share the new ball. R Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha along with Rahul Sharma finish the bowling line-up.
