Mumbai Indians have won their maiden trophy by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday to win Champions League T20.
There are two Indian teams fighting for CL T20 in the finals, but it was a low scoring game as both teams put on the solid batting performances but bowling attack was of both teams made all the taking. Mumbai bowlers did most of the damage with quality bowling attack of Malinga and Harbhajan never gave anything to the opponents. Mumbai scored 139 after deciding to bat first and RCB was dismissed for 108 and Mumbai were crowned as CL T-20 winners.
Mumbai's win looks much solid without their stalwart and regular captain Sachin Tendulkar, middle-order mainstay Rohit Sharma and Davy Jacobs, who had to return midway after getting injured. Bangalore, who reserved their berth in the finals by winning two high scoring games, RCB strength have been their top three batsmen. Top order failing in the finals meant a loss in the finals and trophy too.
Mumbai kept mounting the pressure by picking up wickets in regular succession and a quick firry innings of Franklin made all the difference of winning and losing.
