Nathan Bracken takes CA to court

Former Aussie pacer Nathan Bracken has taken Cricket Australia to court, asking compensation for lost earnings and expenses after he was forced to retire this year due to a chronic knee injury.

Nathan Bracken claims that he did not get enough support from the CA as he was struggling with a career-threatening knee injury. Bracken was retired in January after missing the entire 2010 season due to injury. Reportedly, Bracken has filed a case against CA seeking compensation for lost wages, medical expenses and damages from CA in the Supreme Court. The 34-year-ols, Bracken, played 5 Tests taking 12 wickets at an average of 42.08 and capped for Australia in 116 one-dayers took 174 wickets at 24.36.

Bracken has demanded about USD $1 million in wages, for medical expenses and damages from Cricket Australia. The former swing bowler will argue that CA was careless in allowing him to play with the injury, including two doctors and a physiotherapist who examined him on the claim. Bracken was not in the Supreme Court as the case was briefly mentioned on Wednesday. But, his lawyers asked the attorney to adjourn because CA had not complied with previous court orders to provide medical records relating to the plaintiff.

Cricket Australia was given more time to produce the documents and the case is scheduled to reappear in court on November 30.
