Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic to play Basel Open


The World No.1 Novak Djokovic and former World No.1 Roger Federer to play their next tournament at Basel Open event in Switzerland on Indoor Courts. 

The four-time major title winner Novak Djokovic, who has been pulled out of the 2011 China Open last week, he is also withdrawn from Shanghai Rolex Masters in Beijing. The 2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters tournament will begin from on 9th October, 2011. Djokovic has been suffering from back pain, where he sustained pain at Davis Cup semi final match against Argentina last month.    


The 16 time Grand Slam singles winner, Federer also announced he has withdrawn from the China Open and Shanghai Rolex Masters, due to niggling injures. Federer hopes to recover soon and will be return for action at Swiss Indoors tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts, held at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel. It is an ATP World Tour 500 Series of the ATP Tour. The Swiss maestro has been enjoying spending time with his family, and aiming to win the second ATP title at Basel. 

The 2011 US Open champion Djokovic said that, he was disappointed with his back pain, after missing out the Shanghai Rolex Masters tournament. He added he is not 100 percent fit to play, but will work hard to come back  at Swiss Indoors tennis tournament played in Basel by the end of this month.
