West Indies squad announced for Bangladesh tour, Gayle ignored

West Indies team has been announced for upcoming Bangladesh tour, where they will play One Twenty20, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests. The tour is scheduled to begin on October 7 with the first of two warm-up matches.

Darren Sammy will continue to lead the side, but Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Dwayne Bravo are missed out in the West Indies Test and ODI squads while wicketkeeper batsmen Denesh Ramdin has been recalled to both Testa and ODI squads. During an interview, Gayle had questioned his treatment by members of the board, including chief executive Ernest Hilaire, and the coach Ottis Gibson, after he picked up an injury during the World Cup.

Darren Bravo was not picked, while Sarwan was left out due to injury and Shivnarine Chanderpaul retained his spot in the Test. Ramdin's return has stated that there is no place for Carlton Baugh in the ODIs, though Baugh was included in the Test side.

Openers Kieran Powell and Kraigg Brathwaite, who made their Test debuts in the home season, also found places in the touring party. Barbados all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite was the only new face in the West Indies team touring Bangladesh.
