Federer out of US Open in semi-finals

Roger Federer struggled to accept the repetition of defeat by Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the US Open 2011. Djokovic saved two match points in the final set to reach the final at Flushing Meadows,  Federe has won two sets and lost his next three sets, where Djokovic has accepted that he had gambled his shorts. The scoreline of Federer and Djokovic is 6-7 (7-9) 4-6 6-3 6-2 7-5.

Roger Federer has not won a grand slam since the Australian Open in 2010.  It was the second time this year, where Federer had lost after winning the first two sets. He was devastated when Jo-Wilfried Tsonga did it to him at Wimbledon and similarly crushed in the semis of US Open 2011.

However, Djokovic was honest enough to admit the shot was a gamble. Roger Federer said he only had himself to blame after his agonizing five-set loss to Novak Djokovic in the U.S. Open semi-finals. Djokovic saved two match points when Federer was serving for a spot in the final. Federe said that it was disappointing to loose in this way.  He added that it was all ste but couldn’t finish it off.

The 16-time grand slam title winner is bidding for his 17th grand slam but he has no clue who to overcome in form Djokovic. Even Federer was not able to reach the finals of this any grand slams.
