Roger Federer slips to No.4 in ATP Rankings

The Swiss legend Roger Federer was out of Top 3 in the ATP rankings for the first time since 2003. Federer's absence from the Asian tour has proved costly for his rankings. Andy Murray went on win his hat trick titles in Asia and cinched the number three spot from the Swiss Legend.

For the first time in eight years, Roger Federer has fallen out of the top 3 in the ATP rankings. Britain’s Andy Murray moved from fourth to third in the new rankings released Monday, with Federer dropping from No. 3 to No. 4. Novak Djokovic remains No. 1 and Rafael Nadal No. 2. Roger Federer is facing the toughest situation he has ever gone though a rough patch like this. Roger Federer started this season as No.2 and will be ending the 2011 as No.4.

Mighty Scot, Andy Murray surged from fourth to third in the new rankings released Monday, with Federer slumping from third to the fourth spot. Novak Djokovic remains on top and Rafael Nadal settles for second best.

Federer was absent from tour after his U.S. Open semi-final defeat against Novak Djokovic and consequently is out of the top 3 for the first time since July 2003. However, Federer has been sidelined with an injury, the Scot Murray will have only few points to defend his No.3 position before the end of the season, and Murray will be ending the season as No.3 for the first time.

Andy Murray is New No.3, overcomes Roger Federer

The Great Britain player, Andy Murray overcomes Swiss Mastero Roger Federer in ATP Rankings to take the No.3 position. Andy Murray clinched 2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters title on Sunday.

Andy Murray the Britain top seeded has won is 21st ATP career title at the 2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters tournament at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Shanghai. Scot has overcome against World No. 5th ranked David Ferrer in the final in straight sets with a 7-5 and 6-4 on Sunday.

The new World No. 3 ranked Murray has made 25th victory from 26 matches, where he has raised to No. 3 position for the first time in eight years. Scot said he is still confident to finish the years at No. 3 spot behind No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 2 Rafael Nadal. He added Shanghai Rolex Masters tournaments is one his best tournament played on hard courts, as he was nerves to defend title this year.

By winning 2011 Shanghai Masters Murray has reached the career best No.3 ranking behind, World No.1, Novak Djokovic continued to be on top spot. The Spaniard Rafael Nadal, after being knocked out in the third round of the Shanghai Master, continues to be No.2 in the ATP rankings.Meanwhile, Roger Federer retired from the Shanghai Masters, Murray had the chance of to overtake Federe’sranking and that’s what exactly happened.

The16-times grand slam singles champion, Roger Federer has finally dropped from the ATP rankings. He has started off the season at No.2 and now has been dropped to No.4 in latest ATP rankings.

Andy Murray eyes for Federer’s ATP Ranking

Andy Murray, who is just placed below former World No.1 Roger Federer in Atp rankings. The World No. 4 ranked Andy Murray of Great Britain looking to surpass 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer No. 3 position in the ATP Rankings this year. 

The 3-time Grand Slam finalist Murray has won his 19th career ATP title last week in Bangkok, when he has overshadowed Donald Young of Untied States in the final in straight sets with a 6-2 and 6-0. The Scot has bagged third ATP title of the season and getting closer to surpass Federer in the ATP Rankings. Murray has showed his best performance in all Grand Slam tournaments this year, as he reached final at Australian Open and semi finals at French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.  

The 30-year-old Roger Federer has fall down from No. 1 position to No. 3 spot this year, and also ended up not winning a single major title in 2011. The World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have been increasing their game level, while Serbian has bagged three major titles at Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open. 

The 25-year-old Murray said that, he has been playing good tennis at the moment. Murray is just behind 965 points in the ATP Rankings to surpass Roger Federer and climb to No. 3 position. The Scot will play his next tournament at 2011 Shanghai Masters tournament in Beijing, which will begin on 9th October, 2011.

Federer has finished off 2011 without a Grand Slam and this is first time for Swiss player to end a year without winning any major since 2003. Novak Djokovic clinched three Grand Slams of Wimbledon, Australian and US Open while Rafael Nadal has won French Open as Fedex remained without any title in 2011.

Former World No.1 Roger Federer, said that his greatest rivals Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are playing at greater level of game, than the earlier times when he was simply beating the rivals at Grand Slams. Djokovic was compared to all time rivals of federer like Lleyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick who were at their best when Roger has defeated all the odds against them. 

However, the 47-year old Sweden’s former World No. 1 Mats Wilander said that there is no question of Roger Federer is better now than he is ever been. But the 30-year-old was just not finishing the game on a winning note. However, Novak Djokovic is way better than the opposition he had four, five years ago. He even added the top players are far better now than of earlier. When asked whether Roger the best of all time? He answered yes, because he has 16 Grand Slams and that’s where it all ends. Sixteen majors make Roger Federer the best player of all time.

The perfect solution for the Swiss star and god of tennis in modern era has to find new strategies to his current game and move ahead to add more majors to his gallery of 16 Grand Slams.

Nadal clashes Murray in US Open 2011 semifinals

Defending champion Rafael Nadal and world no. 4 Andy Murray will face each other in the semifinals of the U.S.Open 2011 at Flushing Meadows.The top four seeded players men's will once again show their are a class apart from their rivals.

In the first quarter final round on Friday Andy Murray defeated John Inner in four sets 7-5 6-4 3-6 7-6, and Rafael Nadal outplayed Andy Roddick in three straight sets 6-2 6-1 6-3. Now the British player Murray and Spaniard Rafael Nadal will be clashing with each other in the semi-final of US Open.   

Nadal and Murray are no strangers to playing each other this year. The pair met at the same stage of both Wimbledon and the French Open earlier in 2011, where Nadal victorious both times.

Nadal said that it is always a pleasure to face Andy Murray. He is one of the most talented players on the ATP Tour. He recalled that Murray defeated him at US Open in 2008 and went into finals; it will be a tough match.  However, Murray trails Nadal 12-4 in career meetings; Murray is confodent of over coming Nadal on semis and reach finals of US Open 2011. 

On Thursday, Worl No.1 Novak Djokovic and 5-time US Open champion Roger Federer secured their semis place, Now Nadal and Murray made it a top clean sweep for the top four seeds with victories on Friday.

Nadal crashes Roddick at US Open quarters

World No. 2 Rafael Nadal completed a comprehensive win over former US Open champ and World No. 21 Andy Roddick in three straight sets of   6-2 6-1 6-3.  Nadal advances into semi-final of the 2011 US Open, where he will meet World No. 4 Andy Murray.

Defending champion Rafael Nadal was never looked stugling with his cramp, despite he outplayed American player Andy Roddick of America in straight sets with a 6-2 6-1 6-3.  The Spaniard Rafael Nadal just took 1 hour and 53 minutes finish the natch, Nadal converted 6 out of 7 break points, while Roddick failed to convert a single one out of 4 break points.

The 10-time Grand Slam champion taken the attack and got early lead of 4-0 in the first set and continued his awesome play right through and completed comprehensive win. Meanwhile Roddick appeared to be struggling physically in the latter stages of the game, but it was a highly impressive show from Nadal.

In the other quarterfinal of Andy Murray Vs John Isner, Murray defeated Isner in four sets with score card of 7-5 6-4 3-6 7-6. Now Andy Murray will fight with Rafael Nadal in the semi’s of US Open 2011.
